Finding and analyzing scat (faces, poop) provides useful information on carnivores. Specially trained detection dogs can help researchers to find the scats of specific target species. Tim Hofmann describes how the Cheetah Conservation Fund trains scat detection dogs for important work on cheetah movements and ecology.
